GT trainTrack is a web-based learner tracking system used by colleges and private training providers. First commisioned in 2003, GT trainTrack was also shipped in the same year after very successful rapid iterative development with our clients.

The inception of the Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR) in early 2004 forced many Welsh colleges and work based learning providers to radically overhaul the way they managed information about their learners.

LLWR provides a standardised paperless method for transferring learner data from training provider to their central database and manage their payments to training providers.

In the field however, providers struggled to find tools which complied with this new requirement and at the same time integrated closely with their business processes. Many traditional centralised learner management systems are unable to cope with this change.

The consequences for providers have often been:

• deteriorating cash-flow
• decreasing income
• increasing administrative workload
• increasing audit work-load

Quality data, data that helps organisations meet financial and contractual targets needs not only to be accurate, comprehensive and complete but also visible at all levels to ensure that funding is correctly applied for.
